Get your coffee and creativity fix at the Phoenix

P&J Phoenix Cafe

The Phoenix Cafe in the Park Ecovillage is ‘a prime spot’, says Scottish news outlet The Press & Journal, and not only for the menu.

Community member Sara Wilder has joined the Cafe team as events co-ordinator, and now there’s an vibrant calendar of evening events, from live music, art exhibition openings and open mic nights, to silent discos, folk sessions and DJs.

The wall space is also ever-changing, with local artists sharing their work.

The Cafe is a ‘creative hub for artists, musicians and thinkers’, Sara told The Press and Journal, attracting locals from the community (you’ll often find a meeting or two happening over coffee and a scone) as well as people from surrounding areas (including Forres) and further afield.

‘It’s always a delight to go into work. One never knows how the day will unfold, what connections you’ll make or the conversations you’ll create.’

More recently the menu has been inspired by the many Ukrainian members of staff who came to the community after fleeing the war. ‘Our café manager Kate has been a great driving force in creating change, bringing new life and vibrancy to the Phoenix. We feel very blessed that she landed here.’

Keep an eye out for the new lunch menu coming shortly. ‘The Phoenix is a vibrant, eclectic place to visit,’ said Sara. 'We look forward to welcoming you soon.’
