Building starts on our new Sanctuary

60th Sanctuary Blessing 00783ACT

Building is starting on our new Sanctuary, almost exactly three years since it was razed by fire in April 2021, thanks to massive fundraising support from both our local and global community, plus a very generous grant from the UK central government.

Completion is planned for December 2024 – keep an eye on the Park Ecovillage Trust website for regular progress updates.

The government grant, awarded to the Park Ecovillage Trust (PET), amounts to almost £200 000 from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities’ Community Ownership Fund.

‘This is not only a welcome relief that saves us from further fund-raising, it is also a truly huge step up in mainstream acknowledgement and acceptance of what we do and who we are,’ said Amanda Haworth Viklund, chair of PET.

‘Thank you all for so much support since the arson attacks of almost on three years ago. Your love, encouragement, prayers, vision-holding and financial donations have been enormously significant in getting us to this moment.

‘It is important to thank all of you, our beloved fantastic global family, who have supported us and this project massively on the Inner and extremely generously through your financial  donations. The Universe agrees, as does the UK government!’

The building site of the new Sanctuary will spring into life again in April. Within the year we hope to have a dry, warm and blessedly beautiful space to meet in and be at one with Spirit: the Light of Findhorn Sanctuary.
