Music, dance and laughter at the Winter Gathering 2023

NFA Winter Gathering 2021 89691ACT

There was an abundance of creativity, incredible talent, music and plenty of laughter lighting up the Universal Hall recently in Findhorn’s 42nd Winter Gathering.

The Findhorn Community’s Winter Gathering is an annual performance of songs, story, dance instrumental, music, video and more, to celebrate the longer nights and the talent all around us.

Dating back to 1981, it’s a December gift to residents of Moray and to our friends farther away via livestream.

Performing artists based here in the community donate their time for this event, which is also a fundraiser for local Moray charities – Moray Food Plus, our local foodback, and R-evolution For Good, aimed at ending child poverty.

The acts included the Findhorn Sacred Dance Group, with musicians Barbara Swetina, Howard Stoller and Rory O'Connell; singer Momie Cain and pianist Bill Henderson; storyteller Sylvia Robertson; singer/songwriter Fi Luray; Drumduan School Choir; Andrea Turner with a song and original poem; Sounds Deep men's choir; Dave Till's humorous video; storyteller Peter Vallance; Sharon Took-Zozaya dancing with musician Rory O'Connell; Alan Watson Featherstone's nature video accompanied by harp duo Barbara Swetina and Carolin Waldman; and sing-along carols led by Barbara Swetina and friends. Stewart Friendship and Sharon Took-Zozaya were the MCs.

The New Findhorn Association sponsored the evening.
